5 Useful Czech Words for Your Trip to Prague 🇨🇿
You don’t need to speak Czech to enjoy Prague — but knowing just a few words can make your experience a little more personal. ❤️
Czechs really appreciate it when visitors try even a simple Dobrý den or Děkuji. Don’t worry about perfect pronunciation. The effort itself is what matters.

One little tip from a Czech local:The internet often teaches Ahoj for “hello”, but in Czech it is very informal. We wouldn’t normally use it with strangers, in a restaurant or a shop — and some of us don’t even use it with our grandparents. 😊
If you want to sound more like a local, use Dobrý den. It’s polite, natural and something you will hear everywhere.
I originally created this little card for my guests, but everyone visiting Prague is welcome to have one. ❤️ Save it to your phone or download it for your trip.
Enjoy Prague — and don’t be afraid to try a little Czech! 🇨🇿
